You can choose from two types of aerators, manual and power. The manual tool, called a hand lawn aerator, can be used while standing. This mixture should be made richer and less gritty the higher it goes.

If you plan to grow mostly plants which like sweet soil a small amount of powdered lime may be added – you may need to check the soil pH. In the upper levels of the soil one should set the rocks which are to form ledges and outcroppings of the miniature garden scenery. Rugged, weathered rocks for this purpose should not be difficult to locate and move since they need not be over a foot square, in many instances much smaller. This time last year, we didn’t have a garden. What we had was a back ard on a promontory overlooking the sea. Amazingly, we have even had our first small crops of tasty tomatoes and raspberries. Any day now, the local council will call to say it’s not our land and we can’t do that.
